My Long Time Search for Chopin's Works in You Tube

Following my You Tube search for Chopin's "No Other Love", my late mother's favourite love song, was my accidental or coincidental discovery of Chopin's metempsychosis in the person of Deniz.

As a matter of personal history relating to the song above, my mother always sang this song to us each time she sent us to sleep. It's her lullaby to lure us to take our afternoon nap. It was easy to oblige listening to her lovely singing voice alone. There seemed to be magic in her voice especially when she sang it softly and sweetly that we just dozed off to sleep. And she would slip away to do her shopping leaving us behind under the care of our Auntie.

I must be five years old at that time; old enough to be able to remember those after dinner or lunch activity called 'siesta'. Siesta was generally practiced by Filipinos in those days especially for the children. I don't know how it is today because I have been away for more than two decades without having a chance to visit my home country yet.

It was a common belief or was it an old woman's tale that 'children grow faster and quicker if they get sufficient sleep while they're still young'. Fact or myth? I don't know. But as a mother myself, I did enforce this practice to my own children when they were little. Not only they grow faster, more on their way of thinking, they also grow healthier.

All this started from that romantic and love song of Chopin, the prime motivator of this new blog which I personally dedicate to Deniz Inan, the Chopin1986 of You Tube.
